  Coach Bios

  David Deutsch (Head Coach) 615-636-4667

  

  This is David's second year as head coach for Traceside.  David is a math teacher and head hockey coach at MBA.  He served as the Hy-tek systems administrator for swimming (Colorado) and track (FAT) meets. He is a certified NSL starter, timer, and early start judge; and certified in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer by American Red Cross.  He is a volunteer for West Meade, JCC, 7-Hills, EXCEL, NAC, and SCA swim teams.  Family: Son Tyler '05 swam for MBA.  Daughter Leah '08 swam for SCA.  Daughter Rachel '11 swims for Fr. Ryan HS and NAC.  Son Billy '15 swims for MBA.  

  Nathan Blankenship 615-633–6822

  

  Nathan was born in Lafayette, TN and loves sports.  There wasn't a swim team in his hometown area, but he did play football, basketball, and baseball all during school grade school and high school.  After high school graduation, he attended Western Ky. University where he majored in Physical Education and Wellness.  He graduated in 2000 and became a Wellness teacher at Cheatham Middle school along with being a football, basketball, and baseball coach.  In December of 2006, he was recruited to go to Fairview High to become the Weights/Kinesiology teacher along with being the strength coach.  
  In 2004, he moved to Nashville and it just became to cumbersome to go back to his hometown to work in the summer.  He was then hired at the Club at Westside as the assisstant swim team coach where he have coached until the end of last season.  This is Nathan's 3rd year as a coach at Traceside and is truly looking forward to working with all the great kids.

  Rachel will be a freshman at The University of Tennessee. She swam for the Nashville Aquatic Club (NAC) year round as well as for FRHS. Rachel loves children and has spent the last few summers as a lifeguard. She is looking forward to her second summer as a coach at Traceside!
